2026 STONEWALL ENDORSEMENTS
The Stonewall Democrats of Dallas are committed to supporting candidates who are dedicated to LGBTQ+ rights and equality. To that end, we conduct a thorough endorsement process.
Our Endorsement Committee starts by sending questionnaires to all candidates, giving them the opportunity to participate in our endorsement screenings. During these screenings, our members can directly interact with the candidates, ask questions, and vote on endorsement recommendations. At the next regular Stonewall meeting, the full membership reviews and votes on these recommendations to finalize our official endorsements.
The endorsements screenings for 2026 candidates will be held the first two weekends of January 2026 (January 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th). If you are a candidate for office and would like to seek the endorsement of the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas, please fill out the appropriate questionnaire below and our Endorsements Committee will contact you to schedule your screening.

Ratification Vote
Revised 12/11/21
1. Members in good standing who wish to vote during the endorsement ratification must have been eligible to participate in the screening process. The membership list used to determine eligibility to participate in the screening process will be the same list used to determine eligibility to vote at the ratification meeting.
2. Endorsement recommendations by the screening committee will be presented to the general membership as a slate and voted on as a slate. With two exceptions: the official endorsement committee may decide after screening to separate a race from the slate with a majority vote. This should be rarely done and only with cause. Or, the executive board may separate a race from the slate if it finds cause and secures a two-thirds majority vote. Any separated races will be presented individually to membership. Races the screening committee has recommended as a “Co-Endorsement” will be presented to the membership separate from the rest of the slate.
3. If a motion is made at the ratification to break out a race(s) from the recommended slate, a 2/3 vote of those present voting members will be required to separate the race. Afterward a second simple majority vote will be held on that race to determine the endorsement winner.
