About the event
Join Stonewall and the Human Rights Campaign of Texas for a powerful and joyful community gathering at the Cathedral of Hope as we come together to celebrate the National Day of Reading. As book bans rise in Texas we will will continue to gather in the face of erasure to understand and celebrate LGBTQ+ stories, young people, and families.
This event is part book celebration, part community conversation, and 100% dedicated to keeping our stories alive. We’ll explore themes of belonging, chosen family, and courage in the face of discrimination, with space for reflection, connection, and shared hope for the future.
To keep things light and fun, we’ll also have community crafting with prizes, and plenty of time to meet fellow readers, allies, and youth advocates. Whether you’ve read the book or are just curious, you’re welcome here.
Come be part of an afternoon that reminds us: our stories matter,…
