Dallas, TX - November 20, 2024 - The Stonewall Democrats of Dallas is pleased to announce the election of a new executive team following the November 19 General Meeting. Corey Carrasco has been elected as President, Brady James as Vice President, David Fisher as Treasurer, and Robert Strobel as Secretary. The new team is dedicated to advancing and expanding LGBTQ+ rights and protections in Dallas and across Texas.
“I am deeply honored to lead the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas as we continue to build on the progress we’ve made and fight for the equality of every member of our community,” said Corey Carrasco, newly elected President of SDD. “Together, we will focus on strengthening our community and fighting back against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.”
Brady James, elected as Vice President, added, “Our work is more important now than ever. We are committed to uniting our community and pushing for policies that not only protect LGBTQ+ Texans, but improve their quality of life. The fight for full equality is ongoing, and our new team is ready to take on the challenge.”
The Stonewall Democrats of Dallas is a longstanding organization dedicated to promoting equality, justice, and inclusivity within the LGBTQ+ community. Through advocacy and political action, the organization seeks to elect pro-equality candidates and advance progressive policies at the local and state levels.
The newly elected executive team would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to President Susie Hess for her outstanding leadership and tireless dedication to the LGBTQ+ community. Her hard work has left a lasting impact on SDD and the city of Dallas. Additionally, Jay Harvan, and Javier Ruiz, outgoing board members, are thanked for their invaluable service and contributions.
The new executive team is currently working on an ambitious plan to mobilize and energize a new generation of LGTBQ+ activists and leaders, ensuring that the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas remains a powerful voice for change for years to come. The newly elected executive team will assume their new roles on January 1, 2024.
